4 cups granulated sugar
4 cups white distilled vinegar
1/2 cup salt
1-1/3 teaspoons each of turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed

Slice cucumbers and onions thin (any ratio you like).
Stir sugar, vinegar, salt, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed together without heating until sugar and salt are dissolved. Pour cold mixture over sliced vegetables and refrigerate. Let stand 5 days before eating. Keeps all year in the refrigerator. Makes 1 gallon pickles.

Note: Need approximately 25 cucumbers
